Dear friends,
Praise the Lord and give thanks for the freedom of Norman, Harmeet and Jim!
As you will have noticed, Christian Peacemaker Teams has been getting quite
a lot of coverage in the British media recently as a result. Some of it has
been quite critical. Specifically, we're being called "naive" and
"ungrateful" towards the rescuers of our friends and "irresponsible" for
sending people in to conflict areas. If you disagree with this assesment,
we'd love to have you write a letter to your local paper (or a national one)
to make your perspective heard. It's important that you let people know that
there is support for CPT from Christians around the UK.
While I don't have a sample letter, I do have an article from Ekklesia news
service that rebutts some of the allegations being made about CPT. It's
helpful in laying out some possible talking points.

Also if you haven't seen it already, you can read CPT's statement on their
front page (with addendum): www.cpt.org
If you do write a letter, it'd be great if you could email me a copy of it.
If you'd like a sample letter to look at when writing yours, email me and I
can find you one.
Thanks very much,
Tim Nafziger
